May Update: New England

Recently, Raymond had to travel to New England for business on behalf of the seminary.  It just so happens that this put us within a perfect geographical region to visit Dave and Emily Cook. We flew to Manchester, NH with Raymond and Emily only had to drive 2 hours to pick us up! We had such a wonderful week with our dear friends; this was the first time that we’ve been able to visit with them and it was good to see their life. Our week included a really exciting tour through the Cape Cod chip factory, a visit to the National Seashore, participating in the Herring Run (I’m using the word “participating” pretty loosely…we definitely did not eat any of the Herring like the Seagulls did), and lots of Bocce Ball! Raymond and I were able to go out one evening without kids and Emily and I were able to have an afternoon together without kids too! All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our reunion with old friends and it was really fun to put some more states on our “Been There” list and see a new area of the country!

So below you’ll find pictures from Massachusetts and from Louisville :)

Abigail’s Pool

At the beginning of August, Raymond and the girls and I headed down to Destin, Fl.  My dad was already in Destin enjoying a little vacation for his birthday and he had no idea we were coming to join him for the week!  We had a fun time surprising him – Emily and Robert picked us up from the airport and we snuck into the house to wait for him to come downstairs :) We all had a great week together relaxing and enjoying the beach.

Abigail wasn’t a big fan of the sand – she liked playing in it, she just didn’t want it to touch her feet.  And, of course, she LOVED the ocean! I think it was our second time walking over to the beach that she pointed to the water and shouted, “Abigail’s pool!” Just so you know, Abigail has claimed the entire Gulf of Mexico for herself :)

Its really great getting to see Abigail interact with family at this age.  She can still list everybody’s name from that trip :)

Memorial Day Fun

For Memorial Day weekend we were able to get together with my Dad’s side of the family at my Uncle’s house in Columbus, MS.  Their house is right on the Tombigbee River so we spent the weekend on the jet skis and boats.

Abigail had a blast playing in the river!  She just couldn’t get enough of splashing in the water :)  We were nervous that the noise level would scare her a bit (not just boats but barges also traverse this river) but she didn’t seem to be bothered by it at all!  There were several times over the course of the weekend when we literally had to drag her back on to the boat kicking and screaming because she wasn’t ready to leave.
And it was the first time for a lot of the family to meet Charlotte, so everybody was sufficiently loved on :)

Here are some pictures from the weekend:

A Visit with the Wishalls & Our Trip to Pigeon Forge

It was such a blessing this past Monday to spend the afternoon with our dear friends, the Wishalls!  They have spent the last year preparing for a life of church planting and they came back to Louisville for a short time to visit friends and to give a ministry update to those supporting them financially and in prayer.  Raymond and I learned a lot from this family while they were in seminary and we are praying that their transition to the Denver area of Colorado will be smooth.  Their task is a difficult one, so we pray that the families in their community would be receptive to the gospel and that they would trust the Lord to provide them with the things that they need.

Below are some pictures with the Wishalls as well as a few shots from our recent vacation to Pigeon Forge.  Enjoy!

Pool Time!

Well it seems as though we have a regular fish on our hands :)

Abigail loved her first time in the pool this past week and we hope to be spending more time there to cool off during these summer days!

She laughed so much when Raymond went under the water and came back up right in front of her face :)

I hope you enjoy these pictures:
