A fantastic book for shattering prideful tendencies. In this short book, Mahaney thoughtfully and pastorally exhorts Christians to take pride seriously, as the foremost sin against a Holy God–indeed, pride robs God of all the glory that He alone deserves. Mahaney not only emphasizes the Scriptural rebukes against pride, but he also gives practical suggestions as to how Christians can combat the sin of pride in their lives like 1) beginning the day by acknowledging your dependence on God and ending the day by transferring all glory to God 2) meditate and reflect on the wonder of the Cross and 3) both invite and pursue correction.
My suggestion is that you read this book during your devotional time, the chapters are short enough that you could read one every day or every other day and finish within a month.
Even if you don’t think you’re struggling with pride, you need to read this book.
